These miniature hour meters are quartz crystal oscillator controlled impulse counters. Every 36 seconds (0.01 hour) the coil is triggered for 32ms. This means that maximum power is only needed for 32ms in every 36s; the quiescent current is only 2mA. This makes the timer suitable for battery operation.
The flush and base mounted models (DP-HK07.20 and DP-AHK07.00 respectively) are connected with 5.9" (150mm) long flying leads. The DP-HK07.20 is inserted into the panel opening and a integral spring clip holds the counter in position. This model is available with flat 0.02" x 0.11" (0.5 x 2.8mm) pins and push-on connectors. The PCB mount models have silver plated solder pins 0.016" x 0.05" (0.4 x 1.2mm).
